Server side search is something we're aiming to have available in the next few weeks. It didn't make the launch feature set.

I'm not sure. Are you asking about the Apple IMAP client's 'Load more messages...' feature ? If so then I don't think so because that's a feature that doesn't really apply to sync'ed mail (where you get to say how many days/weeks etc to sync). If this is a feature that the iPhone has when syncing with Exchange 2007 (similar to server search), then the answer is 'probably'.

ah, I hadn't thought about it being an IPhone issue with Exchange 2007. But now that I think about it, searching messages on the server would pretty much negate any need to load more messages.

Thanks guys!

Yes, it's a much better way to go than trawling.

"Real soon now". We have the new release in in-house testing right now and will be working on rolling it out for public testing, and thence to full deployment next week.

Any update on when searching the IMAP server for messages will be rolled out? I've now managed to sign-up both my girlfriend and a mate to NuevaSync and they're both hoping it'll come soon, much like I am!

Just found a beta option to do this in Advanced Settings on Nuevasync. Let's see if it breaks everything!!

The only reason it's a beta option right now is for some issues with Windows Mobile devices. iPhone users shouldn't see any problems.

Cool. I've just turn it on in advanced settings, I'm sure it'll work well. I've just sent a resync of mail to my device but it doesn't seem to go off and search the IMAP server yet - is it just something that takes a few minutes to bring back results on the iPhone?

The iPhone doesn't seem to pick up on the change to the service quickly. You can delete the sync setup and re-create it on the phone to force it to see the new feature immediately.

Ah ha! Shall give that a go.
