I think it might be worthwhile to create a mailing list for users to notify them of any bug fixes/improvements to the service that are deployed. I didn't know that I could check a box on my account page to archive instead of delete for a few weeks after that was made available. It would just be nice to have a way to keep up on this without having to check the blog all the time.
Also, I don't use twitter, but I guess that's my fault.

I was hesitating to say anything since the delete or status change will sync back to the iphone within maybe 2 or 3 minutes for me most of the time, which I imagine might just be within spec, but now that you mention the fact that the sync from the iphone to gmail is always much faster than the sync from gmail back to the iphone, I wonder if something isn't awry. Also, when I say sync, I don't mean that I expect the read/unread/deleted status to be pushed to the iphone, as I've read the posts on how that is a limitation of gmail, but I mean that constant polling from the iphone to update my inbox yields no changes for a few minutes.
Needless to say that I too am experiencing the same issue. This is a email communication I had with the developer's:
Me: I'm still unable to delete from the gmail interface an have it reflected on the phone.
Nuevasync : That's expected. Leave it a few minutes and you should see the deletes come though.
I'll get a proper explanation from the engineer involved later today..
Did you ever get any information on this? If this is just a limitation of the system, consider me happy with the service as is. Of course, if there's any way to speed up syncing changes back to the iphone in the future, it would be awesome too.

So, are changes made on the web reflected on the device after 8 minutes or do you still have to open the calendar program after 8 minutes in order for the changes to be reflected? I was sort of under the impression that you had to open the calendar in order to refresh any of the calendar data anyway, but the 8 minute polling interval is confusing me now. Is that just the interval between when changes made on the google calendar web app are synced to the nuevasync servers, or in theory should my device actually be getting new information every 8 minutes without opening the calendar to refresh?

On the original topic of this e-mail, being able to archive messages from gmail, is there a way to change your default trash folder to all mail rather than the trash so that all you have to do is the old swipe and tap to archive rather than delete? I seldom delete anything and usually archive, so I'd rather have it take me a few extra seconds to actually delete something by moving it to the trash folder than to have it take me a few extra seconds to archive something by moving it to All Mail. Thanks

Ditto, although I will say that the annoying error message I got any time I tried to delete something has gone away. Good work on that one.

I just got the delete error message again, so do I have to delete the account and readd or something or will the fix take a while to roll out? Or perhaps I have some sort of third variation of the problem? Thanks for all your help so far

So the problem DID get fixed for a little while, and I just went to delete a couple of e-mails and got the error message again. Hoping that the second fix has not yet gone into effect yet and that that catches my problem.

Ditto to the third power. I am having the trash and folders problems on my iphone, but I am still getting my e-mails pushed fairly well adn fairly consistently. For a service that is a few days old, I'm not too peeved, but I do hope you're able to resolve the problems soon. Good luck

I've never removed and recreated it. I've turned mail sync off and on. Would it help to remove and recreate? I guess it couldn't hurt right?

Not to post to many times, but I forgot to mention that I am also still experiencing this problem, and a similar problem where my iphone says "The message could not be moved to the mailbox 'Trash'", but then the e-mail is in fact moved to the trash when I check the gmail web client.

Is there a way (on an iPhone) for me to set up my inbox to push but for all other folders to sync on demand (fetch)? I don't care about my starred messages being pushed for instance, but I'd like to be able to view them on my phone and as far as I can tell this isn't working for me by default.
