Problems with Google Calendar API Service Today

Google had some kind of widespread Calendar API trouble earlier today, between around 15:00 and 16:00 GMT.
In some cases this led to the removal of calendar events from our users' devices (the events are still at Google
and can be restored to the device by initiating a calendar reset on our web site).

This happened because Google's API service erroneously reported to us that some shared calendars were
not accessible to the user. When our service sees this condition it stops syncing the calendar and
removes all its events from the device. This is done to ensure that users don't see calendar events
for calendars they no longer have access to.

After 16:00 GMT Google seems to have fixed the problem and the affected calendars are no longer being
flagged as not accessible. We believe that affected calendars should come back on devices eventually
but this could take a while, or may require a change in that calendar to trigger syncing. Therefore if
you are missing events on your device please initiate a calendar sync reset via our web site.
This should restore any missing events.
