I'm a premium account holder, having used the service since it was beta to sync Gmail to iPhone.

I just wondered (other than the remote wipe, which is very tempting) if there was any advantage to using Nuevasync in Android (Nexus One) over the native Gmail sync, given that all my info is in Google accounts anyway?

What would be the difference in the service?

If there's no real advantage, then thank you for a fantastic service over the past 18 months that I've used you!

Typically Android owners use our service with non-Google data (e.g. you can get AOL push email via NuevaSync).
I believe there are some Android phones that don't support more othan one GMail account, and so we do have
some users who want two account synced. But bottom line is that a Google-designed phone is going to do a good
job of syncing Google data.

Note that remote wipe doesn't work with the Android sync client (because the device doesn't yet support remote wipe).

Regarding reliability, would there be an advantage with NuevaSync over Google Sync currently? Or does the native Google sync method offer any advantages for the android platform over NuevaSync?

The reason I ask, I just signed up for Free Trial of the service to sync my Gmail account to my Windows Mobile phone, because Google sync had a number of reliability issues which would cause syncs not to occur, error out, etc. NuevaSync has been quite reliable for the short time I have used it.

However, I read that full EAS native functionality is limited on some android phones. I would imagine this would be a drawback against using NuevaSync on an Android Platform vs using the Google Sync. But, I might be wrong there...

Hi, are you asking about Android devices syncing with Google, or are you looking for a comparison for your own Windows Mobile phone's sync with Google's EAS sync service ?
(Android phones sync with Google using some different thing than their EAS service, that's specific to those phones).

Sorry, got a bit convoluted in that question.

Ultimately, I am asking for a service comparison between NuevaSync vs the native Gmail push on Android handsets. NuevaSync has been reliable, but does the Gmal push have that same reliability? Does the Gmail Push have added features/benefits over NuevaSync? I know you may not be able to answer these, but they are considerations I am weighing before I buy an android

Sure, just checkin..

The bottom line here is that we don't pitch our Google sync service as an alternative to Google's native Android sync.
There are some odd cases where users have said they're using our service because Google's doesn't do one thing or another.
Unfortunately I can't remember the details off the top of my head, but I think it was things like syncing calendar from one
Google account and contacts from another, or syncing two GMail accounts. That type of thing.

Of course we do have plenty of Android users who are using our service to sync their non-Google data.
For example one of the NuevaSyncers has a Droid which gets push email via our service, from our own corporate IMAP servers.
