The service has been enhanced to allow older PocketPC 2003 devices to sync.
Calendar and Contacts sync is currently working. Email is not at present functional,
but on those devices it's of questionable value since they don't have push.
One thing to watch for is that these devices have a very short time out on their
requests to the service. This means that it can be necessary to press the "sync"
button a few times on the initial download (because it can take longer for the
service to fetch and process the data from Google than the device's time out).
Please test if you have access to a PPC2003 device and report any problems
either via support or here on the forum.

For me this may not be completely true...
I have an account (jfrhees) and am successfully syncing a WM6.1 phone via wifi.
I added a PPC2003SE device (Toshiba e405). Calendar seemed to sync ok but contacts produced repeated errors and never fully synced.
To isolate the problem, I did the following:
-Opened a new NuevaSync account (mrhees) and set it up for calendar sync.
-Did a hard reset on my device.
-Setup activesync on my device to sync calendar (only).
-Connected and successfully synced. Tested further by adding and removing appointments on device and online.
-Setup NuevaSync for contacts sync.
-Reconfigured activesync on device to sync contacts only.
-Reconnected and tried to sync, but received errors.
It appears that I get three different errors, and that the cycle repeats predictably:
-"Connecting...", "xx of 134 items", "Errors": Sync failed. Try again later. Error code 0x80820001. (only a couple entries added to device).
-"Connecting...", ""xx of 2 items", "Errors": Sync failed. Try again later. Error code 0x80820001. (only a couple entries added to device).
-"Connecting...", ""xx of 4 items", "Synchronization error: A critical error has occurred......you will lose only the changes made since your last successful sync. Error code:SYNC_3.
(Note that upon clicking the SYNC button on the device's activesync, the whole process only takes a second - there does not seem to be any delay connecting to the Nuevasync/Google servers.)
I know you're busy and this functionality would be nice to have but isn't really critical for me so it's ok if you put it low on your list.
Thanks.

Hi, thanks for testing this. The most likely cause is some data specific to your contacts that didn't show up in our testing, and which is not to the device's liking. Would it be possible for us to use your account to debug this here ? We have capabilities in our development servers that allow for example individual contacts to be sent to the device, which makes it much easier to figure out which one is causing trouble.

Go for it. Anything to help. The account I'm using for that device is "mrhees". Note that although the sequence of errors is almost always the same, the number of contacts transfered seems to be random.
