Is PalmOS working now that we have email service through ActiveSync? In other words, can we use the service problem free on a Centro as long as we have a premium account?
The way I understood it before, the problem with PalmOS was that you could not turn "off" the email sync, and since you did not offer this service, the sync would fail. Seems like this would no longer be a problem.

Hi, what you say is true -- the newer Treos did require e-mail. However, we added a 'null' e-mail sync capability to the free service months ago so you can try it there. Our testing suggests that there are still interop problems with PalmOS, and we haven't done any testing at all of e-mail sync with it. This is really just a resource issue--it probably wouldn't take long to fix whatever is broken for that device.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm still not having any luck. I've googled my butt off but cannot find any configuration info for the Centro. I'm using VersaMail and have configured all of the settings, but when I click "test" I get "Connected to server with incorrect version." and when I press "sync" it connects, refreshes, receives, and then gives me an alert to press sync, and nothing syncs up. Any help?

Jeff -
I am also interested in this.
And I have also Googled it - a lot.
A blog post that I found discusses how to successfully get push Gmail --- for a service that apparently went silently dead several months ago.
However, the setup info might be helpful, even if the service provider would be different. One important thing (for Gmail only?) that was suggested was to update VersaMail to v4.01 from the Centro platform (link now points to v4.07).
Notes:
- I have read elsewhere that this update kills the hotsync email conduit. It is not clear there is a recovery path from this feature loss.
- The linked page on Palm's website states: "Compatible with: Treo 650, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Centro, Treo 755p"
http://cortlandrobinson.blogspot.com/2009/04/true-gmail-push-for-treo.html
If you get something working, please post here.
I'll try to do the same.

Hi, this isn't a configuration issue (your config is correct), it's a not-working issue
At present the service is incompatible with the VersaMail client.

Any other clients (other than Chatteremail as it no longer available from Palm, who unfortunately bought it a while ago) that NuevaSync will work with on recent PalmOs handsets?

I realized that we never posted anything here to say that we had full PalmOS/treo compatibility.
This happened a few months ago and old skool Palm devices should be working just fine now.

I am trying to sync my Palm OS Treo 755p. I have two phones. I set both up with VersaMail activesync Exchange, both showed good test settings, ran it and both synced to my Google calendar. That's all I can get, one time. It will not work anymore. I have contacts disabled, because I only want to do my calendar. Google doesn't have any contacts loaded. The message I am getting from my phone says: There was a problem syncing. There was a problem syncing messages.
I don't want to sync messages either, just calendar. Is there a google setting wrong, perhaps? Can I do calendar only? If I have to allow contacts and messages I will, but I don't see how to sync messages with the free version. Please help, this program may be the only way for me to sync wirelessly and keep both phones in sync. Thanks. Cathy

Hi, can you try syncing again please ? We only see your phone try to sync email, and for only a minute or two, then nothing after that. There was no error on the server.

Well, the 2nd phone is my husband's so I can't resync at the moment.
However, I went to google calendars and set up a new calendar for him and "shared" our calendars, and came back to nuevasync and set up a new acct user for him, too. We'll see how that works. So, far, so good with the one phone.

Ok, based on what we're seeing in the service logs for your first account, the phone just wasn't in the business of syncing anything other than email.
Why it got into that state I'm not sure.

well, things worked for 24 hours beautifully. Today, it isnt syncing at all. In fact, email from gmail through versamail isnt either. Test settings are good. I am set up to sync contacts and calendar, but my email is`dead. Also, it wont sync any of those directly with laptop. I resolved to say, okay, I'll just never add a new contact again unless it is on my Treo. Then export once in awhile. 3 days of trying find a way, and now, I am ready for a hard reset. That means another day to fix this to the way things were.

Hi, we see a problem inside the service due to something unexpected your phone sent (in a calendar event).
I'll post up update here once we've had a chance to do some analysis on this.

Ok, so here's what happened:
You have a calendar event on your phone (PM me if you'd like to know which one).
Some time today an 'exception' was added to that event on the phone (meaning that one instance of a recurring event was deleted or changed).
The device somehow generated an invalid time for that exception record (it has a time with 61 minutes past the hour !).
That time value was rejected by the service. The phone then sulked, repeatedly trying to send the same bad change to the service, which kept rejecting it.
We're doing some thinking here about how to handle this. Generally we design things so the sync fails hard if the device sends something so strange that the service doesn't know what to make of it. On the other hand, I'm sure you'd like your phone to keep syncing

I just started using NuevaSync and love it. Thank you. The two way sync for the Calendar works great. Events are syncing both ways. After doing an initial push of my Palm contacts up to Gmail, the contact sync now seems to be going only one way from Google back to my Palm. I thought the contact sync was two-way. I make a change in the Palm and it does not show up in Gmail.
