Sync is two-way for all data. I'm wondering if the Palm sync client has some notion of saving up changes for 'later', when it needs to talk to the server for some other reason.
I'll see if we can test this on our lab Centro.

I did make a Sync All request from VersaMail which I thought would push the changes to gmail.

In our testing the Centro seems to send changes made on the device to the server either immediately or soon after so I think we need to look at your device specifically to see what it is doing. Can you please open a support ticket via our web site, so we can look in detail at what's going on with your phone ?

I made several changes to a contact named Home on my palm and sync'd all with versamail. [nuevasync.com #13390]

Hi, I have a Palm Treo 680 that I'm trying to sync with Google Calendar. NuevaSync username is 'elrad'. I've set up VersaMail using the setup guide for PalmOS (my Account Settings were slightly different to those in the guide's screenshots; my versamail version is 3.5.3). If I do a Test Connect afterwards, it says it succeeded, plus this registers a 'Status OK' event in the NuevaSync Sync Status. All the other statuses that the Troubleshooting guide suggests to check, all report back 'OK' as well.

The problem I'm having, is that I press 'Sync' on the Palm's mail account... it then seems to connect, says it's receiving data, but then follows with an error with the following text: "There was a problem syncing messages." So I'm not sure why it's failing? I've tried turning the phone off and on again etc. but no joy.. the only other thing I could think was that this might be an old version of PalmOS or VersaMail?

Any help would be much appreciated... thanks guys!

Hi, I did some investigating on your account and it looks like your Versamail is too old.
It's trying to use a very old version of the sync protocol that we do support, but we only
support it for PocketPC2003 devices. Versmail is trying to use a feature that we didn't
implement I believe.

If there's a way to update your device firmware, please try that.

Well well, I upgraded my Versamail to V4 and hey presto! it is working. However it sat for so long on 'Contacts' that I cancelled it - so I'll have another go at that, but the calendar came through just fine, which was the important thing for me. Far out man! Thanks a lot.

Thanks, good to know. We were not aware that there were older versamailen out there that expected to speak the Exchange 5 sync protocol.
