I vote for a much needed feature for Windows Mobile users because Windows Mobile only has 1 calendar but supports multiple categories:
Ability to map google calendars to categories, so that one can say:
- map default calendar to category:personal
- map business calendar to category: business
- ...
and during sync WM-> google it puts events with cat A to calendar A and when syncing from nuevasync to WM use categorie A for events in calendar A.

Right now I have to use OggSync to sync calendar events. It would be really nice to eliminate another app and just use NuevaSync. Categories are the KEY to getting multiple Google calendars into our Mobile device without screwing them up.
I also use a free application called Chronobis to pulle my work calendar through OWA using a ONE-WAY sync. With that application I have the ability to force a specific category that gets translated as a specific Google label/calendar.
I am looking for an all in one. I currently do the following on my phone to get email:
- ActiveSync for nuevasync, contacts from Google only
- ActiveSync for work, email only
- IMAP for Gmail email
- OggSync for Google calendars
- Chronobis for OWA one-way sync of work calendar with forced "Work" category, so work and personal calendar can be logically seperated in Pocket Outlook. The one-way sync also prevents my personal calendar from being pushed up to work.
If nueva sync could add Categories to Calendars that would eliminate another application that I had to use.
NEW SUGGESTION: Add recognition of categories on contacts also. This allows us to apply and recognize Google Contact Groups. This would allow us to seperate work contacts from personal contacts.
For all of this, choosing one-way or two-way sync based on rules and account would be awesome!
Don't worry, I've been told a lot that it's not possible. Well, I know for a fact it IS. It's whether or not a company decides it's worth it to them to do. OggSync, Chronobis, NuevaSync combined DO have that functionality in one form or another.
Thanks!
Chris

I would love to see category mapping so that I could get rid of my GooSync account.

Hi, the 'calendars to categories' feature was something we considered a long time ago and for reasons that I don't fully remember, decided not to do it. I believe the major concern was that it would confuse users (since we thought we were the first folk to come up with the idea, it wasn't clear that it would make sense to everyone). Well, of course now we have users asking for the feature on a daily basis, so clearly it would have made sense
Calendars -> category mapping will be added to the service in the future.

Thank you, this feature is absolutely essential for windows mobile.
I have two others requests regarding the ability to map google calendars to windows mobile calendar.
I think it will be interesting to have an option for tagging this kind of calendars in both way for read/write calendar and in one way (google to ppc) for read only calendar.
And then the ability to remove reminders in the same way.
Imagine, you want to set events according to the availability of an other co-worker. So you want to see his calendar, but you don't want to have his reminders activated on your ppc. And you want to do the difference between your events and his ones on the same view without filter categories. This two options can solve this issues.
This options can "simply" be available in front of each checked google calendar in nuveasync calendar setting account.
What do you think of it ?

This is similar to what I was stating above with the one-way sync. I don't think ActiveSync will let you get that detailed thought. OggSync already does this, but it's another application install and has no PUSH ability.

There's a sharing mode in Google calendar that only shows free/busy state for another user. We don't currently support it though.
Allowing a calendar to be read-only is kind of supported at present in that if you only have read access at Google, we will throw away any changes coming from the device for that calendar.

Why not ? Activsync protocol is not used end to end between Google and the PPC. I suppose that nuveasync's servers have to make conversions. So reminders informations should be available.

I am a Microsoft Certified MCITP MCSE with almost 10 years of Microsft Windows domain and more importantly Microsoft EXCHANGE implementation and migration experience. Looking at the core code doesn't show any ability to control the sync process. The whole idea of ActiveSync was to get 2 locations of data identical to each other, and it does that well.
The only way I've ever seen someone do a one-way sync was develop their own way of syncing. That's not to be said that you couldn't create an application that "extends" ActiveSync, but inherently, it only sends/receives everything.
Hopefully I'm wrong.

Excellent ! But what about the others options (tag + reminders removed) ?

Ok, well I am limping right now.
My oggsync subscription has now expired so support for multiple calendars (adding and editing events to a particular calendar using categories) is no more. I have not renewed on the hope that this will be supported SOON. So I implore you to help a brother out.....
You guys have a great product, light years ahead of google sync, and at least a dialog with your users. Thanks, and waiting patiently....well not so patiently

I am in the same boat. My goosync subscription ends in a couple of weeks and then I need to decide if I can wait or if I need to renew again. Does NuevaSync have an idea of when it might deliver category mapping?
