Hello,
I just signed up for premium service because of push-GMail. Thank you so much for implementing this!
I have a problem deleting messages. Sure, I can move message to trash, but I'd like to be able to swipe the message and delete it. But this doesn't work. I get the message (translated from German) "E-Mail couldn't be moved. E-Mail couldn't be moved in the trash folder".
I am using iPhone 3.0 German version. Maybe it is a language issue? The imap folder is called trash, but the iPhone talks about "Papierkorb" (=trash).
I found with google the following, that might help with my issue (if I used imap directly):
1. Open ‘Settings’ > ‘Mail’ > [Your Gmail IMAP account] > ‘Advanced’
2. Select ‘Drafts Mailbox’ > ‘On the Server’ > ‘[Gmail] Drafts’. Return to the ‘Advanced’ view.
3. Select ‘Sent Mailbox’ > ‘On the Server’ > ‘[Gmail] Sent Mail’. Return to the ‘Advanced’ view.
4. Select ‘Deleted Mailbox’ > ‘On the Server’ > ‘[Gmail] Trash’. Return to the ‘Advanced’ view.
I guess doing step 1 and 4 should work. But I can't edit these setting, because Nuevasync isn't imap but exchange on the iPhone.
Any help?
Chris
EDIT:
I can also *Not* archive by moving mail to "all mail". I can though delete by moving mail to "trash" (however, can't delete by swiping, as explained above. The mail app even crashed once trying to do so.)

Hi,
i've got the same problem. Also sent Messages aren't moved to the sent folder, maybe bc it's called 'Gesendet' on my German iPhone.
I'm using German iPhone OS3.0 JB. Maybe there's a workaround changing some sql-files on the phone?
EDIT:
Chaning the language to US (gmail, iphone) and after a resyncing does work.
Michael

Same problem. It works perfectly though over regular imap.

GMail ist set to "english (US)". I had this set long ago. Confused...
Edit: Btw, setting my iPhone from german to english didn't resolve the issue either.

Log in to Googlemail/GMail, then go to settings and change Googlemail/Gmail display language.

Thanks. I've done that but nothing has updated on the phone. Do I need to re-add the nuevasync account?
Also, is there any difference setting my account to US?

Anyone else got an issue that after deleting a message, the mail stays in "all mail"?

Hi, just to clarify, the expected behavior (right now) is:
Messages deleted on the device end up in 'trash' at GMail, and not in 'all mail'.
This is identical to the result if you 'delete' the message in the GMail web interface (for all practical purposes anyway).
If you want to 'archive' as opposed to 'delete' , then at present you need to do a 'move' to 'all mail' on the device.
We're think of adding an option to make 'delete' on the device behave like 'archive' (so it would not put messages in the 'trash' at GMail, but instead in 'all mail' but no longer in the inbox.
This feature won't be implemented for at least a few days though, so for now the behavior intended is as above.
If you're not seeing this, there may be some issue identifying your trash folder via IMAP. We're looking into that.
Hope this clears things up a little.

Yes, that would explain the behavior I (and others) experience.
We're looking into that.
Thanks
